Where you earn it

Train where credentials are built

Your certification is earned in purpose-built labs with real equipment and expert instructors. This is the hands-on experience that gives your qualification its weight.

Why certify

Why your certification matters

Comprehensive, Real-World Training

Our modules span smart lighting, climate control, security systems, energy management, and networking. Every topic is built around the scenarios you will actually face on site, so that the skills you take away translate directly into confident, professional installations.

Learn from Practising Experts

Every course is delivered by certified professionals who still work in the field. That means up-to-date insight into products, protocols, and client expectations, paired with a hands-on teaching style that prioritises practical ability over theory alone.

A Credential That Opens Doors

Graduates earn certification recognised by CPD, with Beginner and Advanced routes also accredited by CEDIA and awarding CEU points. CPD supports broader professional development, while CEDIA carries particular weight in the smart home sector.

A Career Built to Last

The UK smart home market is projected to grow by double digits year on year, yet qualified installers remain scarce. Whether you're an electrician, IT professional, or trades worker looking to diversify, certifying now puts you ahead of the curve, positioning you to build a scalable business, lock in long-term contracts, and become the go-to specialist in your area before the competition catches up.

Your certification journey

Three certifications.
One transformed career.

Each stage builds recognised accreditation, with CPD certification across the pathway and CEDIA-accredited Beginner and Advanced routes awarding CEU points.

What learners say

Trusted by installers & professionals

Real feedback from people who have completed our courses and gone on to apply their skills in the field.

James P.

Electrician

Really practical course. I came in knowing very little about smart home systems and left feeling genuinely confident setting up and wiring Home Assistant installations. The hands-on labs made all the difference.

Sarah M.

Property Developer

I took this course to understand what our installers actually do on-site. It gave me enough technical knowledge to have proper conversations with contractors, and the networking module was surprisingly useful.

Chris T.

Electrician

George was a great trainer. He kept things moving but never rushed anyone. When I got stuck on the network config he sat down with me and walked through it until it clicked. Really appreciated that.

Daniel K.

Smart Home Installer

Already had a few years of experience but wanted to fill in some gaps. The sections on VLANs and network segmentation were exactly what I needed. Wish I'd done this sooner honestly.

Priya R.

Interior Designer

I wasn't sure if this would be too technical for me, but the instructors were brilliant at explaining things in plain English. Now I can actually spec smart lighting and climate systems for my clients.

Tom H.

IT Consultant

The Home Assistant deep-dive was class. I'd been tinkering at home for a while but this course gave me a proper structured understanding. The automations module alone was worth it.

Natalie F.

Smart Home Installer

Honestly one of the best training experiences I've had. George clearly lives and breathes this stuff and it shows in how he teaches. He made the more complex topics feel very approachable.

Rebecca L.

Apprentice Electrician

My employer sent me on this and I'm glad they did. Everything was very well explained and the pace was spot on. Challenging but never overwhelming. Got my certificate first try.

Marcus W.

AV Installer

Good blend of theory and practical work. I particularly liked that the labs use real hardware, not just simulations. You actually configure switches, sensors, and controllers yourself.

Hannah C.

Facilities Manager

Took the course to better understand the smart building tech we're rolling out across our sites. The energy management and scheduling sections were exactly what I was after.

Ryan D.

AV Technician

George was really patient and knew exactly when to step in and when to let you figure things out on your own. That balance is hard to get right but he nailed it. Would definitely recommend.

Liam O.

Self-employed Installer

Straightforward, no-nonsense training. The instructors clearly know their stuff and the course material is bang up to date. Already landed two new jobs off the back of the qualification.

Aisha B.

Electronics Engineer

I appreciated how current the syllabus is. Matter, Thread, Zigbee, Z-Wave all covered properly rather than glossed over. The troubleshooting scenarios at the end were a nice touch too.

Everything you need to know before getting started.

Not at all. Our Introduction to Smart Home Technology (Beginner tier) is designed for people with no previous smart home or automation experience. It covers safe working practices, IoT fundamentals, and basic device installation from the ground up. If you already have a background in electrical work or IT, the Advanced and Pro tiers will build on what you know.

Each tier combines online learning exercises with hands-on, practical training in our purpose-built labs using professional-grade equipment from brands like Shelly, Ubiquiti, Home Assistant, and Aqara. The Beginner and Pro examinations are completed online, while the Advanced tier course is delivered face-to-face in our training center.

Every course awards CPD-accredited certification upon successful completion. Beginner and Advanced are also CEDIA-accredited routes, with Beginner awarding 12 CEDIA CEU points and Advanced awarding 18 CEDIA CEU points. CPD gives broad professional development recognition; CEDIA is especially relevant for smart home professionals.

Course duration varies by tier. The Introduction to Smart Home Technology course can be completed through online study at your own pace, while the Advanced tier involves scheduled hands-on sessions in our training centre. The Pro tier is delivered through online study and professional examination. Specific dates and timelines are shared when new courses open.

Yes. Our courses are in high demand and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a course is full, the next available date could be several months away, so we recommend registering your interest early to secure priority access when enrolment opens.

Our Havant centre is our purpose-built flagship facility, while our London location provides convenient access for professionals based in and around the capital. Both centres feature fully equipped smart home labs with professional-grade hardware for hands-on training.
